FAQ

How long have you been a dog lover? Tell us about your history with dogs.

I have been a dog lover ever since I was a little girl even though I didn’t get my first dog until I was living on my own. Since then, I’ve had a German Short-Haired Pointer who lived to 13 and a Rott/Chow/Retriever mix who lived 7 years with cancer and also lived a great life until age 13. After Tucker passed, I was a mess. I needed something to replace that unconditional love only an animal can provide. Two days later enter Sammy; the cutest little fur ball I’ve ever seen. Sam E. Dog has been the best thing and a life saver for me.

What would you like to know about a dog before sitting him or her? Do you have any breed preferences?

I have do not have any issues with any breed as long as they are raised in a happy, loving home and not trained to hurt while protecting. I always try to get dogs together prior to first visit. All of my customers run back to my house when they see me. It is a wonderful feeling for both me and the owners.

Do you have reliable transportation in the event of an emergency?

Yes. I also offer transportation services for those who have last minute issues that make them run behind schedule. Life happens!

Are you comfortable administering medication?

Of course! Not a problem. I’ve had to provide IV’s to dogs that were low on fluids, pills, liquid medication and the normal flea, tick, and heart worm medication. I’ve also had to administer diabetes medication via needle.

How much time do you plan on spending with my dog each day?

I will spend time quality time before work, during lunch, and the entire evening I am home. I do have a helper who is at home during the day as well. The most time your dog would be alone is approximately 5 hours total.

If you have a backyard, please describe it.

Fenced in backyard with lots of toys, small wading pool, and is in the midst of being redesigned into a small dog park. Small is the operative word; that being said our home is dog-friendly and dogs are free to run around as if they were outside.

Where will my dog sleep?

As stated previously, I hope to keep up with any general rule you have as the dog owner. I have no problem with dogs in my bed with me, on a dog bed, or in a kennel. Any is your choice and I have all provided here so you are not required to provide your own. I also provide the newest form of treatment for anxiety, Thunder Shirts, just in case your dog is nervous or has problems being separated from their owner(s).

Where will you take my dog on walks? Tell me about it.

I will walk your dog around the block of my subdivision and it is a one mile circle around. If the owner and dog is accepting, I also enjoy taking dogs to the park to run amuck and be doggies.
